Hartage played in four games with the Dolphins last year after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern following the 2019 NFL Draft. The Dolphins initially waived Hartage before signing him to their practice squad to start last season, but promoted him to the active roster for Week 13.
Hartage was active when the Dolphins played the Giants in Week 15, but failed to crack the box score. All told, he recorded 8 tackles and pass defensed in his four games as a Dolphin.
Hartage had a reputation as a smart, instinctive player at Northwestern and totaled 197 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, 9 interceptions, and 26 passes defensed in three years as a regular player in college.
GM Dave Gettleman and coach Joe Judge pointed out after the draft that the roster building process was ongoing. This is another example.
