New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman has made it clear that he would be amenable to trading down from No. 4 in the 2020 NFL Draft. Gettleman might have found a willing partner in the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports reported Wednesday night that “several GMs” had mentioned the possibility of a Giants-Jaguars swap. A source indicated to me that there have been “serious talks” between the two teams about the Giants getting the ninth and 42nd picks from Jacksonville in exchange for No. 4.
The target at No. 9 for the Giants in a trade-down scenario could be Alabama offensive tackle Jedrick Wills, should be remain on the board.
The 42nd pick would help the Giants make up for losing the 68th overall pick in the trade for Leonard Williams, and would give the Giants picks at 36 and 42 in Round 2.
Jacksonville may also be looking to move disgruntled defensive end Yannick Ngakoue to the Las Vegas Raiders for the 12th overall pick, per Walter Football.
