The New York Giants have reportedly lost an assistant coach, as strength and conditioning coach Aaron Wellman has accepted that same job for the Indiana University football program.
Wellman has been Giants’ strength and conditioning coach since 2016, working for both Ben McAdoo and Pat Shurmur.
The move to Indiana is a homecoming for Wellman. He is a native of Ligonier, Ind. He began his strength and conditioning career as a graduate assistant at Indiana from 1996-98. He then spent three years as a full-time assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Hoosiers, and was primarily involved with the football, baseball and softball teams.
Can’t fault a guy for going home when the opportunity arises.
