Tight end Eric Tomlinson, who played three games for the New York Giants in 2019, is returning to the team. Tomlinson posted an Instagram photo Friday evening of himself signing a contract, and several reports have indicated that contract is with the Giants.

Tomlinson, a 6-foot-6, 263-pound blocking tight end, played three seasons with the New York Jets. Last season, he played three games with the Giants, two games for the New England Patriots, and three with the Oakland Raiders. He caught only one pass, which came while with New England. In 44 career games, Tomlinson has 17 receptions.

His short stint is New England means that Tomlinson is, of course, familiar to Giants head coach Joe Judge.

Tomlinson is the second veteran blocking tight end added to the roster this offseason by the Giants, joining Levine Toilolo, formerly of the San Francisco 49ers. Here are the tight end on the roster:

Evan Engram
Levine Toilolo
Kaden Smith
Eric Tomlinson
Garrett Dickerson
CJ Conrad
