it took until Friday evening, perhaps a sign that NFL teams are not really enamored with the former New York Giants on the free agent market, but a former Giant has finally signed elsewhere.
Adam Schefter reported that special teamer/reserve cornerback Antonio Hamilton has signed a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Hamilton was a critical part of the Giants’ punt coverage team the past two seasons. The Giants, though, re-signed special teamer/wide receiver Cody Core and added former New England Patriots special teams standout Nate Ebner.
Reserve safety and special teams leader Michael Thomas remains a free agent.
There have also been reports that former Giants right tackle Mike Remmers is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs. Remmers’ agent, Bret Tessler, took to Twitter Friday evenign to call those reports “premature.” Tessler tweeted that “Nothing finalized just yet but we’re working on it.”
