Pass rusher market drying up
#Rams free agent pass-rusher Dante Fowler is expected to sign with the #Falcons, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. A high-end pass-rusher lands in Atlanta. Coach Dan Quinn actually coached Fowler while at Florida.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 18, 2020
I have been saying the Giants might not land a top-tier pass rusher. That’s becoming more and more likely. Fowler, by the way, reportedly getting three years and $48 million. Crazy money!

- Could Jadaveon Clowney’s price tag tumble into Giants’ range?

— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) March 17, 2020
Giants sign edge rusher
No, it’s not Jadaveon Clowney. The Giants are taking a one-year flier on Kyler Fackrell, who had 10.5 sacks when current Giants defensive coordinator Patrick Graham was his defensive coordinator with the Packers in 2018.
Backup quarterback chatter
Jets are in the market for a backup QB. Veteran Matt Moore played well for Adam Gase in Miami when needed. He would be solid Sam Darnold insurance.
— Manish Mehta (@MMehtaNYDN) March 17, 2020
But keep an eye on the Giants, who have made it known that they’d be interested in having Moore as Daniel Jones’ backup in 2020. pic.twitter.com/2Rey4jg8Pt
Noteworthy releases
#Lions are releasing LB Devon Kennard, source says. Bit of a surprise there. Team captain coming off back-to-back seven-sack seasons. Should have interest elsewhere.
— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) March 17, 2020
Bears are releasing former first-round draft pick Leonard Floyd, per source.

Giants lose out on Kyle Van Noy
#Dolphins have agreed to terms with LB Kyle Van Noy, source says. Reunited with Brian Flores.
— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) March 16, 2020
It always seemed like it would be Dolphins or Giants for Van Noy. It’s not Giants. Reportedly four years and $51 million from Dolphins for Van Noy. That’s rich.

The Giants are reportedly interested in Jets EDGE defender Jordan Jenkins. [Full story]
Leonard Williams gets tag
The Giants have made the franchise tag official for defensive tackle Leonard Williams.
People love a comeback story and Ereck Flowers is going to write one this week. Cut by the #Giants in 2018, the tackle-turned-guard is about to get a really nice deal this week. Might not be with the #Redskins despite their efforts to retain him.
— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) March 16, 2020
No tag for Halapio?
Starting center Jon Halapio will not be tendered. He is recovering from an Achilles tear in Week 17 and is ahead of schedule in his recovery. There are ongoing talks about a possible return later this spring, per source. #Giants #NFL
— Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) March 16, 2020
The Giants like Halapio. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him brought back on a low-cost deal. Considering his injury, there aren’t likely to be other suitors.
