The New York Giants have been awarded a trio of compensatory selections in the 2020 NFL Draft. Those picks are as follows:

  • Round 3 — Pick 35 (No. 99 overall)
  • Round 7 — Pick 33 (No. 247 overall)
  • Round 7 — Pick 41 (No. 255 overall ... this is the draft’s final pick, the “Mr. Irrelevant” selection)

The trio of compensatory selections gives the Giants 10 picks in the upcoming draft, three of which will be in the top 100. The 99th pick, for the loss of Landon Collins, doesn’t make up for giving away the 68th pick in the Leonard Williams trade. It does at least get the Giants into Round 3, albeit at the tail end.

The Giants have picks 4 (Round 1), 36 (Round 2), 99 (Round 3), 110 (Round 4), 150 (Round 5), 183 (Round 6) and four picks in Round 7 — 218, 238, 247 and 255.

Here is the list of players gained/lost who figured into the compensatory formula. For the Giants:

Lost: Jamon Brown, Landon Collins, Mario Edwards, Josh Mauro, B.W. Webb, Kerry Wynn

Gained: Markus Golden, Golden Tate

The New England Patriots (4) received the most compensatory selections. The Giants were one of six teams to be awarded three.

The Giants qualified for a fourth compensatory selection, but it would have been the 33rd comp pick awarded. The Collective Bargaining Agreement limits the number of compensatory picks to 32.
