Good morning from Indianapolis, New York Giants fans!
Could it really happen? There are reports out there that the Washington Redskins might consider a quarterback at No. 2 despite drafting Dwayne Haskins a year ago. Or, that the Redskins would swap the No. 2 pick to the Miami Dolphins for Nos. 5 and 18. If that happens and the Detroits take Ohio State cornerback Chase Young with the third overall pick, well, there you.
Paul Schwartz of the New York Post offers up more details.
An individual familiar with Sean Lee’s thinking tells NJ Advance Media that the 33-year-old would welcome the opportunity to sign with the Giants this offseason if he is not re-signed by the Dallas Cowboys.
“Who wouldn’t want to play at least one season in New York?” the person said.
Added a current NFL scout, “Lee’s still a special player and special person.”
I have been wondering when this chatter would start.
Drafting Brown would be a Gettleman-esque move, wouldn’t it?
Wrapping up from the Combine
Yours truly is getting on a flight out of Indianapolis on Friday, bringing to an end three days of in-person Combine coverage. Thursday’s highlights:
- Linebacker? Don’t tell Isaiah Simmons he’s a linebacker
- Linebackers? We’re talking too, and about linebackers? Yes, we are
- Five most interesting new drills at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine
- NFL Combine 2020: Drills Giants fans should pay attention to, and why
Yours truly also did a trio of podcasts that included audio from a variety of press conferences. I don’t sound great, mostly because all I had with me was a headset mic and not my usual one. But, what you want to hear are the interview clips.
Have questions about the Giants? E-mail them to firstname.lastname@example.org, and the best ones will be answered in an upcoming mailbag.
