Good morning from Indianapolis, New York Giants fans!
Giants make Amos Jones hire official
The Giants formally announced the addition of veteran assistant coach Amos Jones to Joe Judge’s coaching staff on Wednesday. Jones will carry the title “assistant coach/special projects and situations.”
Jones, 60, has been coaching for 40 years, the last 13 of those in the NFL. He was assistant special teams coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season.
Judge and Jones worked together at Mississippi State from 2004-2006 when Judge was a player and Jones a linebackers and special teams coach.
“Amos is someone I’ve known for quite some time,” Judge said. “I have a high trust factor with him. He’s definitely somebody who has worked consistently throughout his career with a number of organizations dealing with situations. He’s got an eye for all sides of the ball. He’ll help with a lot of special projects that will come up throughout the season with evaluation of ourselves and our opponents.
“I think everybody on our staff will bring value from their own experiences and it will tie together and complement each other. Amos brings a wealth of experience to our team.”
Combine continues
Defensive linemen and liunebackers will speak to media on Thursday from the Indiana Convention Center. Offensive linemen will be performing the bench press. Quarterbacks, tight ends and wide receivers will go through the first on-field workouts of the Combine.
