The Washington Football Team has announced the release of second year quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

Haskins was renamed Washington's starting quarterback in the wake of the loss of Alex Smith to a strained calf. Haskins, however, squandered the opportunity with poor play and worse decision making.

Haskins threw two interceptions in each of Washington's last two games as the team was fighting for control of the NFC East.

But while that was bad enough, Haskins off-field decision making, namely attending a party in violation of the NFL's COVID-19 protocols, likely sealed his fate.

Haskins will now see if another NFL team is willing to take a chance on him. Washington, meanwhile is back in the market for a young quarterback. They might like Kyle Allen, but will also likely spend much of the draft process studying this year's quarterback class.
