Good morning, New York Giants fans!

James Bradberry’s “uncontrollable accident”

James Bradberry, the Giants’ Pro Bowl cornerback, missed Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns after being placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list as a high risk close contact of a chiropractor outside the Giants organization who tested positive for the virus.

On Wednesday, Bradberry did not appear to believe he had made a mistake.

“I couldn’t really say I blame myself,” Bradberry said. “It was an uncontrollable accident that happened.”

That, of course, ignores the reality that Bradberry went outside the organization for treatment without the team’s knowledge.

In his first year with the Giants, Bradberry explained that during training camp he sought and found a local chiropractor.

“Football is a physical sport. It takes a toll on your body, so of course, when you come to a new city, you want to get a routine started with people that will help you with your recovery,” Bradberry said.

Bradberry said he eventually discovered the chiropractor was “with the Jets.”

“Of course, he got popped with a positive COVID test later in the season,” Bradberry said. “But I knew he was with the Jets, so I knew he was getting tested every day. I didn’t really see it as a problem.”

Quotable

“It’s honestly win at all costs, win by any means, do your job, execute at a high level. That’s the secret I tell these guys of playoff football is you just got to go out there and do your job like you’ve been doing all 16 weeks and don’t make it bigger than it is, and that’s what we’ve got to do. Doesn’t matter how you feel on Wednesday practice, how you feel on Thursday. I might not look great all the time on Wednesday, but I’m out there on Sunday giving all I’ve got for the team.”
