The New York Giants lead the Washington Football Team 20-3 at halftime.
This game got off to about as sloppy a start as possible.
The Giants jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter before Washington could even run its sixth offensive play. Washington committed a pair of turnovers in the first quarter, a fumble on the first play which nobody seemed to want to recover and another fumble on a punt return. The Giants managed to score on both opportunities, while escaping without turnovers of their own when Daniel Jones fumbled out of bounds and an off-target pass to Evan Engram was tipped to a Washington defender but the ball just found the ground.
The Giants found some rhythm before the half, driving down the field to score a touchdown to extend their lead to 20-3.
The story of the first half, however, is likely the ugly leg injury suffered by Washington QB Kyle Allen. He was knocked out of the game in the first quarter when Jabrill Peppers was blocked into him, snapping his lower leg. That injury brought veteran QB Alex Smith onto the field, who is making a comeback from his own devastating leg injury.
Use this as your open thread as Washington gets the ball to start the second half.
