The New York Giants Saturday filled the three spots they had due to players being placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. The Giants brought placekicker Graham Gano off the Reserve/COVID-19 list and activated safety Xavier McKinney and linebacker Tae Crowder from IR.
The Giants also elevated rookie defensive end Niko Lalos from the practice squad.
The bad news on the injury front is that second-year edge defender Oshane Ximines will undergo surgery on Monday to repair his right rotator cuff. Ximines, who played four games this season, had returned to practice on Monday. That news means the Giants have lost both starting outside linebacker, Ximines and Lorenzo Carter, to season-ending injuries.
Gano has made 21 of 22 field-goal attempts this season, missing only a 57-yarder. The Giants will go into Sunday’s game with both Gano and placekicker/punter Ryan Santoso active.
McKinney, the Giants’ second-round draft pick out of Alabama, has missed the entire season after fracturing his foot during training camp.
Crowder, the final pick in the draft, had started at inside linebacker in Weeks 5 and 6 before going on IR with a hamstring injury.
Lalos, a rookie free agent from Dartmouth, has spent the entire season on the practice squad.
