New York Giants coach Joe Judge, in his first media availability since firing offensive line coach Marc Colombo last week, said there has been a lot of “misinformation” in the media but that he is “not going to rehash” the details.
“The decision we made was in the best interests of the New York Giants, short- and long-term,” Judge said.
“I made this clear from Day 1. I’m always going to make every decision on what I see as best for the team. This decision was no different.”
Judge fired Colombo last week with reports surfacing that there had been several weeks of friction between the two surrounding progress of the offensive line or lack thereof, and some of the techniques that were being taught.
Judge said the Giants “aren’t going to do anything to turn the offense upside down” with new offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo.
Judge simply said “No” when asked if he was concerned about how DeGuglielmo’s apparently abrasive personality would impact the offensive line.
