The New York Giants have placed Oshane Ximines on IR with a shoulder injury apparently sustained last Sunday vs. the Los Angeles Rams. That means Ximines, a third-round pick last season, will miss at least three games.
Ximines played in each of the season’s first four games, starting three. He was credited with five tackles (four solo), three quarterback hits and one tackle for loss.
Ximines did not practice this week.
The Giants have not yet announced a corresponding roster move.
Linebacker David Mayo has been on IR all season after suffering a torn meniscus in training camp. He returned to practice this week, but it’s unknown whether or not he is ready to be returned to the active roster. The Giants have until after their Week 7 game vs. the Philadelphia Eagles to decide whether to activate Mayo or leave him on IR for the remainder of the season.
