Good morning, New York Giants fans!
Daniel Jones won’t discuss maskless bar outing
Giants quarterback Daniel Jones met the media Thursday, the same day news broke that teammate Will Hernandez has tested positive for COVID-19, and deflected questions about last Friday’s much-publicized dinner out in New York City where he and Saquon Barkley were shown without masks on.
Did Jones violate protocols or jeopardize anyone?
“I certainly respect the question and acknowledge the importance of it. But Coach (Judge) spoke about it the other day. We have a way of handling those things. We’re going to handle it internally here,” he said. ‘Our focus is on the Bucs this week and being prepared to play Monday night.”
Did he want to clear up anything about the outing?
“Coach commented on it. There is some information, but like I said, we’re going to handle it internally and prepare for the Bucs this week,” Jones said.
Does he expect to be disciplined?
“Like I said, we’re going to handle it here as a team. I’ve talked to Coach. I’ve certainly talked to Coach and dealt with it here inside. That’s our policy there. I don’t have much to add on there,” Jones said.
Giants practice with masks on
As coach Joe Judge had said they would, Giants players wore masks during Friday’s practice as part of tightened COVID-19 protocols following the positive test by Hernandez.
“(It was) not too comfortable, but this is 2020,” Logan Ryan said in a post-practice Zoom call. “A lot of things we have to adjust for, a lot of curveballs. I’m not complaining, got the best job in the world. I got used to it pretty quickly.”
