Giants-Bucs opening odds: Giants are double-digit underdogs

The huge point spread is really no surprise

A national audience will be subjected to the futility that has been the New York Giants thus far in 2020 next Monday when the Giants host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Predictably, the 1-6 Giants are overwhelming 10.5-point underdogs to the 5-2 Bucs in early odds from DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Giants lost last Thursday to the Philadelphia Eagles, 22-21, in a game that could have put them in the middle of the NFC East chase. Instead, it may have put them in the position of spending this week selling off players in return for draft assets with the Nov. 3 trade deadline fast approaching.

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers have scored a combined 83 points the past two weeks in victories over the Green Bay Packers and Las Vegas Raiders. That is bad news for a Giants team that averages only 17.4 points per game, 31st in the league.

Former Giant Jason Pierre-Paul continues to play at a high level for Tampa Bay, leading the Buccaneers with 5.5 sacks.
