Good morning, New York Giants fans!

It’s Matt Rhule Day!

The Giants will interview Baylor head coach Matt Rhule, considered the favroite for the Giants’ coaching vacancy, on Tuesday.

NJ Advance Media has a great look at how Rhule went from a Penn State walk-on to to a potential NFL head coach.

The makeup of Rhule’s coaching staff should he be hired by the Giants is of great curiosity as Rhule has only one year of NFL experience, 2012 as an assistant offensive line coach with the Giants.

SNY reports that “the Giants plan to give the 44-year-old Rhule plenty of leeway to assemble his staff.” Ralph Vacchiano also writes that “no one on either side” expects the coaching staff to be an issue when it comes to whether or not Rhule is offered the job.

There is an expectation that Rhule would like former Giants assistant Sean Ryan to be his offensive coordinator and Phil Snow, who ran his defenses at both Temple and Baylor, to be the defensive coordinator.

For what it’s worth, CBS Sports ranks the Giants’ job as the best head-coaching position still available, above those for the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns.
