The New York Giants can cross one candidate off of their coaching search. That’s because the Dallas Cowboys have hired (or at least come to terms with) former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy.

The Giants interviewed McCarthy for their own head coaching vacancy last week as a part of the first round of their interviews. While the Giants’ NFC East rivals moved quickly — Dallas only interviewed Marvin Lewis and Mike McCarthy while the Washington Redskins interviewed just Ron Rivera before hiring him — the Giants are methodically going through a wide-ranging list of candidates.

The Chris and Joe Show is here to react to the hiring by the Cowboys.
