New York Giants hire Sean Spencer as defensive line coach — report

The coaching staff appears to be complete

The last remaining major opening on Joe Judge’s New York Giants coaching staff appears to have been filled, with a report indicating that the Giants will hire Penn State associate head coach/run game coordinator/defensive line coach Sean Spencer as their defensive line coach.

Spencer has been defensive line coach for James Franklin at Penn State since 2014, earning the additional titles along the way. He held the same job working under Franklin at Vanderbilt from 2011-2013.

Spencer, 49, has been a college coach since 1995. He has never coached at the NFL level.

The Giants have only confirmed the hirings of Jason Garrett as offensive coordinator, Patrick Graham as defensive coordinator and Thomas McGaughey as special teams coach.
