We knew two of the six New York Giants inactives with the news Friday that tight end Garrett Dickerson (quad) and wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) would be out. Now, we know the rest.
Third quarterback Alex Tanney will sit this one out as rookie Daniel Jones will be the backup for Eli Manning. Unless Jones or Manning is injured at some point, Tanney figures to be inactive most weeks.
Running back Paul Perkins will also be inactive. That will leave Wayne Gallman as the lone backup for Saquon Barkley. Fullback Elijhaa Penny can fill in at running back if needed.
The other inactives will be offensive linemen Chad Slade and Eric Smith. That means the Giants will carry seven active offensive lineman vs. the Dallas Cowboys with Spencer Pulley and Nick Gates as the only available backups. Gates would be the fill in at tackle, while Pulley would be the reserve center/guard.
