We will officially get to see the New York Giants new-look offensive line on the field this Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.
The team announced that free agent right tackle Mike Remmers participated fully in Friday’s practice after dealing with injury following the final preseason game. Remmers (back/illness) was a partial participant in Thursday’s practice after being held out of Wednesday’s practice.
Remmers being a “full-go” in Friday’s practice makes it very likely that he will be active for the Giants’ divisional game this weekend.
The Giants have already ruled wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) and Garrett Dickerson (quad) out for Sunday’s game.
The Giants were hoping that Slayton’s athleticism and ability to stretch the field would make him a deep threat with Corey Coleman on the injured reserve. However, Slayton is still working his way back from the hamstring problems which kept him off the field for most of training camp and preseason.
The injury to Dickerson calls into question how many tight ends the Giants will have active on Sunday. Evan Engram and Rhett Ellison are givens, but this could mean that Giants’ fans will get their first look at newly acquired Eric Tomlinson — or that the team will promote UDFA rookie TE C.J. Conrad from the practice squad after waiving LB Nate Stupar Friday.
