Good morning, New York Giants fans!
The regular season is here! The Giants, 53 players and a 10-man practice squad’s worth, return to practice today to get ready for Sunday’s season-opener vs. the Dallas Cowboys.
Practice squad
In case you missed it, here is the Giants’ 10-man practice squad:
DL Freedom Akinmoladun
WR Reggie White Jr.
C/G Evan Brown
LB Josiah Tauaefa
OLB Jake Carlock
TE C.J. Conrad
RB Jon Hilliman
DL Chris Slayton
CB Corn Elder
WR David Sills
Elder and Sills are the only two players who weren’t with the Giants in training camp.
Elder was a 2017 fifth-round pick by the Carolina Panthers, Dave Gettleman’s last draft as GM of the Panthers. Elder was on IR in 2017 and played in 13 games last season.
If Sills’ name is familiar, it’s because he is the former quarterback offered a scholarship by then-USC coach Lane Kiffin at the age of 13 only to have his quarterback career derailed by an injury to his throwing hand. He went undrafted and landed with the Buffalo Bills. He caught two passes for 14 yards in the preseason before being cut.
