Good morning, New York Giants fans! It’s a game day.
Phil Simms seems to think Jones will do just fine.
”You know, I heard the booing, heard about it, read about it, but I can honestly tell you, 100 percent, from my heart, I never once thought about it and treated the booing as a negative - not once,” Simms told NorthJersey.com and USA TODAY Network Northeast. “I did not care, and you know what, I hate to do it, but there is a lot of Eli [Manning] in Daniel from that respect. He’s just gonna march - head down and keep marching ... it’s a great way to be as a quarterback, and unfortunately, I wasn’t that way. I was emotional, and those emotions were a detriment to my performance early on. From what I’ve seen, those I’ve talked to about Daniel Jones, the pressure of playing quarterback in the NFL and for the Giants isn’t going to bother him. I don’t think Daniel Jones is going to care one bit about booing. He’s got a job to do.”
Daniel Jones is ready for his Giants preseason debut
This NFL debut for Jones will be the highly anticipated yet non-definitive first step for the rookie quarterback who one day will take over for Eli Manning.
Sqquon Barkley is projected to lead the league in touchdowns.
