The New York Giants have chosen to cut quarterback Kyle Lauletta, per multiple reports.

Lauletta, selected in the fourth round a season ago, becomes the first Dave Gettleman draft pick to be cut in Gettleman’s two seasons as Giants GM.

Lauletta went 22-of-40 and threw a game-winning touchdown pass on Thursday vs. the New England Patriots. He went 37-of-62 (59.7 percent) in the preseason, throwing for 453 yards and four touchdowns.

Lauletta went 0-for-5 in his only action last season.

The Giants have now cut mid-round quarterbacks in back-to-back years, having let Davis Webb go in favor of Lauletta a season ago.

No word yet as to the fate of veteran Alex Tanney.

The Giants are also reportedly cutting rookie defensive lineman Chris Slayton, a seventh-round pick out of Syracuse.

Follow our updated cuts tracker for all of the moves. Teams have until 4 p.m. ET Saturday to set their initial 53-man rosters, so much is yet to be done.

So, Giants fans, are you surprised by the cut of Lauletta?
