Good morning, New York Giants fans!

Many roster spots undecided

The Giants have to trim their roster to 53 players following Thursday’s preseason finale. Thus, that game will be the last chance for several players to show the Giants they belong.

“Right now, we really don’t have a depth chart, so I wouldn’t say who’s at the bottom of the roster,” coach Pat Shurmur said of the upcoming decisions. “I will say this. We sort of know who’s at the top of the roster. Everybody beyond that, and especially all of the guys that play in Thursday’s game, certainly have a chance to impress us in a way where they can make our football team. I think that’s still where we’re at roster wise. We have a lot of guys competing for the 53 spots.”

Daniel Jones ready for start on Thursday

What does Jones want to get out of the preseason game vs. the New England Patriots?

“I think just seeing improvement. I think just making sure that I’m not making mistakes that I’ve made before, correcting things, and I think just being able to kind of measure improvement from the first, second, to third, to now the fourth game is the biggest thing for me,” Jones said. “So, moving the ball and scoring points is always the goal, but I want to make sure I’m moving forward.”

Jones said his first training camp has been “about what I expected.”

“I think I realized there would be good days, bad days, and a lot of learning — this is a big step for anyone, just adjusting to playing in the NFL, so it’s been good, but I think I realized there’d be a lot to learn, there’s a lot of things still to learn, but I think it’s been a good process so far,” he said.

Kyle Lauletta: 'Nowhere else I'd rather be' than with NY Giants

"I don't want to be anywhere else. I'm fully invested in this team and this is where I want to be," Lauletta told and USA TODAY Network Northeast after Sunday's practice. "I'm hoping and praying, and I'll let my performances speak for themselves. Got one more [preseason] game, hopefully get more opportunities, so just looking to go out there, have a good game and keep getting better. But yeah, there's nowhere else I'd rather be than here."
