The New York Giants, to the disappointment of fans who weren’t able to watch, had to move Tuesday’s training camp practice indoors because of threatening weather in the area.
Big Blue View was not in attendance today. Here, though, are some of the highlights of the day.
Quarterback stuff
Daniel Jones
It doesn’t sound like this was a great day for Jones. And, by the way, whether it was or not let’s not go crazy. As Dave Gettleman and Pat Shurmur have said, taking his temperature every day is pointless. Still, you want highlights. We’ve got highlights.
Here is an interception thrown by Jones. That’s the bad news. The good news? This is a great play by Corey Ballentine.
Daniel Jones just threw his first INT of training camp. Corey Ballentine with the nice pick in the end zone and ... he runs out the door! #giants pic.twitter.com/xSTeCn6GLP

Here is a better look at the Ballentine play.

Eli Manning
Here is a terrific catch by Evan Engram. I’m guessing, though, by the way Engram looked at his hand that there was a little zip on this throw from Manning.

Quotable
A good first week
Here is Pat Shurmur’s assessment of where the Giants are after a week of training camp:
“Where we’ve made the most progress, I think, is the familiarity with the schemes on really all three sides of the ball, so offense, defense and special teams. I think our younger players have come further this year than maybe they did last year. Those are probably the areas (we’ve made the most progress). This is a critical week, as you get into the second week of training camp, so to speak, because our next off day will be Sunday, then we start to get into training camp slash game prep stuff for the preseason game. We’ve got a long way to go, I think, to get where we need to be. But I think it’s a good first week.”
Injury updates
Did not practice:
OL George Asafo-Adjei (concussion)
LB Mark McLaurin (broken foot)
LB Nate Stupar
WR Darius Slayton (hamstring)
WR Brittan Golden (groin)
WR Alex Wesley (PUP)
CB Henre Toliver (ankle)
CB Sam Beal (hamstring/groin) did individual work
Wide receiver Sterling Shepard is continuing to practice on a limited basis despite his broken thumb.

There was apparently a stipulation to Shepard’s participation in 11-on-11 drills Tuesday. No contact (thus the yellow jersey) and no passes in his direction.
“It’s not ideal,” Shepard said. “But it still allows me to work on my technique, see on film that I’m getting open, that I’m creating separation. I know the ball is not going to come my way, or at least I don’t think it is sometimes. It might surprise me a couple of times. During the walkthroughs, he (Eli Manning) might accidentally throw it to me or something. Yeah, it just allows me to work on my game still.”
