Nasir Adderley was the Delaware safety who got national attention and ended up being selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers. Adderley’s lesser-known sidekick, Tenny Adewusi, will also get a chance in the NFL with the New York Giants. Adewusi signed with the Giants after rookie mini-camp.
Let’s get to know a little about Adewusi as we continue profiling the 90 players the Giants will bring to training camp.

How he got here
The Nigernian-born Adewusi didn’t start for Delaware, an FCS school, until his senior season. He had been a reserve defensive back and special teams player. As a senior, he compiled 38 tackles (31 solo) and had seven passes defended.
Adewusi is one of seven Blue Hens players who will have a shot at making an NFL roster this fall.
Adewusi drew attention with a strong showing at the Delaware Pro Day.
Pro Day: Strong performance for @DelawareFB DB Tenny Adewusi (5110/200) who timed 4.51 in the forty; 33.5" vert; 10-1 broad; 4.44 shuttle and 16 bp reps of 225. Had 38 tackles and 7 PBU in 2018. He went to Giants’ rookie mini-camp as a tryout player and did enough during those three days to earn a longer look from the team this summer.

Adewusi begins his Giants’ career with a mountain to climb. Including Sam Beal, the Giants have four first-year draft picks in their secondary.
The starting safeties are Jabrill Peppers and Antoine Bethea. Second-year man Sean Chandler and veteran Michael Thomas are backups. The Giants have spoken about fourth-round pick Julian Love eventually becoming a free safety, and they used him there some in rookie mini-camp. Sixth-round pick Corey Ballentine also has some free safety experience.
Adewusi, though, has beaten the odds to get this far. Perhaps he can do so again.
