The New York Giants selected Ryan Connelly, an inside linebacker from Wisconsin, in Round 5 of the 2019 NFL Draft on Saturday, 143rd overall.

In his draft guide, Dane Brugler of The Athletic says:

Connelly has little margin for error with his skill-set, but he is an instinctive hunter with the special teams mentality that will give him a chance to make the 53-man roster.

Tony Pauline of Draft Analyst says:

Connelly was graded as a potential second-day pick entering the season but watched his play level off. He has the size and speed to start at the next level but must get his game back on track and show improvement from his junior season.
