2019 Big Blue Draft-A-Thon: The Giants select Drew Lock (QB, Missouri) at 37th overall. On to the third round

Big Blue View is back on the clock for the third round after selecting Drew Lock with the 37th overall pick

NCAA Football: Missouri Pro Day Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

So far Big Blue View has selected Ed Oliver (iDL, Houston), Jonah Williams (OT, Alabama) and Drew Lock (QB, Missouri) for the New York Giants in our Draft-A-Thon.

The Giants finally get their quarterback at the top of the second round. They get unbelievably lucky to have the 12th rated player on The Draft Network’s board falling to them at 37th overall. Lock has all the physical tools scouts and coaches love, though his accuracy is a concern. The Giants would likely like Lock as a player who can sit behind Eli Manning for the 2019 season before taking over as the starting quarterback in 2020.

After using the 71st overall pick to select Sam Beal in the Supplemental Draft, the Giants have to wait until the 96th overall pick — acquired from the Cleveland Browns in the Odell Beckham trade — to make their selection in the third round. For brevity’s sake, I won’t be listing the 59 selections between the Giants’ pick in the second round and when they are on the clock again in the third round, and instead we will jump right to the poll.

Note: It is possible that the poll will not appear on some platforms. If you can’t see it, state that in the subject line of your comment and make your vote in the body. Only vote once and only comments that state the poll wasn’t visible will be counted. For simplicity’s sake I will not be counting write-in votes. I don’t agree with all of TDN’s rankings either, but we’re going to keep this as organized as possible.

Draft wisely...
