Good morning, New York Giants fans!
Pat Shurmur: “Coaching for my job every day”
Giants’ co-owner Steve Tisch hinted earlier this week that changes could be coming to the Giants after this disappointing season. A new head coach might be one of them.
“I feel like I’m coaching for my job every day. That’s the way we function,” Shurmur said on Wednesday. “As players, you’re playing for your job, and you’re coaching for your job every day. We understand this is a results business, and the ultimate result is winning games. Along the way, doing the things necessary to win a game and then consistently win. That’s just the reality of it.”
Roster moves
The Giants on Wednesday signed former Carolina Panthers cornerback Rashaan Gaulden to their practice squad. Gaulden, 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, played in 24 games in two seasons. He was a 2018 third-round pick by the Panthers, meaning he joined the team post-Dave Gettleman.
The Giants lost center/guard Evan Brown, who was signed off their practice squad by the Miami Dolphins.
