EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New York Giants (4-11) aim to derail the playoffs hopes of the 8-7 Philadelphia Eagles today at MetLife Stadium (4:25 p.m. ET/FOX).
A victory by the Giants could not only knock the Eagles out of the playoffs if the Dallas Cowboys beat the Washington Redskins, it could increase the chance Pat Shurmur returns as head coach next season.
A victory would be the Giants’ third straight. It would equal their victory total of five from 2018, and would mark their first three-game winning streak since they won six straight during the 2016 season.
This could also mark the final game in a Giants’ uniform for 16-year veteran Eli Manning. No announcement regarding Manning’s future plans has been made, but it’s hard to imagine Manning returning to the Giants as a backup quarterback in 2020.
The Eagles are 3-point favorites.
