A fun matchup between rookie quarterbacks was unfortunately derailed early in the third quarter when Dwayne Haskins of the Washington Redskins had to be carted to the locker room after suffering an ankle injury Sunday against the New York Giants.
Haskins and Daniel Jones had been hooked up in a game that showed promise for fan bases of both teams.
Haskins was 12 of 15 for 133 yards and two touchdowns when he was carted off. The Redskins were trailing, 28-14. Haskins was hurt when he got sandwiched between Markus Golden and Lorenzo Carter. As of this writing, he has not officially been ruled out of the game.
Case Keenum replaced Haskins.
Jones was 14 of 18 for 165 yards and three touchdowns in the first half.

UPDATE: Haskins returned to the Washington sideline, but the Redskins have listed him as doubtful to return. Haskins never did return, and now we know why.
Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins said owner Dan Snyder told him not to return to the game after his injury. Haskins said X-rays were negative but he will get an MRI. Haskins said he lobbied to return but obviously failed. https://t.co/SdJXaU7Er1
