Good morning, New York Giants fans!
Janoris Jenkins’ ‘apology’
Media members in attendance at Giants’ practice Thursday has been blasting Janoris Jenkins for what seems like an insincere ‘apology’ for calling a fan “retard” during a Twitter exchange on Wednesday.
Judge for yourself:
Let me be clear. I wasn’t in the locker room Thursday. I am only judging off what I have seen and heard, and past observations of Jenkins when I have been around the team.
In my view, it’s quite apparent that Jenkins isn’t actually remorseful. He doesn’t really seem to understand why the word “retard” is offensive. That’s appalling, especially to someone like me who has raised a child with special needs.
The fact that the original incident took place during practice when Jenkins was supposed to be rehabbing his ankle makes it even worse.
Listen, I called for Jenkins to be cut two years when he got suspended for not showing up and then obviously began making ‘business decisions’ on the field. I’m surprised he is still on this team.
I won’t argue with anyone who believes he no longer should be.
