The New York Giants and the New York Jets, sporting a combined 3-14 record in 2019, will meet Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.
No, it hasn’t been pretty for either team in the Big Apple this year, but this content should still be interesting.
With starting center Jon Halapio out, the Giants will turn to backup Spencer Pulley who started nine games for the Giants in Halapio’s absence in 2018. The Giants could also be without starting right tackle Mike Remmers. Nick Gates would start in his place.
It’ll be the first time newly-acquired Giants defensive tackle Leonard Williams plays his old team, just two weeks after the deal went through.
In-game updates
GIANTS TAKE THEIR FIRST LEAD: A 15-yard pass to Golden Tate and a 2-point conversion throw from Daniel Jones to Bennie Fowler have given the Giants a 27-21 lead with 5:21 left in the third quarter.

SOLDER INJURED: Nate Solder was taken to the locker room in the second quarter. Eric Smith replaced him at left tackle. Solder is out with a concussion. The Giants now have Smith and first-time starter Nick Gates at the tackle spots. [Full story]
FIRST QUARTER: The Jets led 14-0 at the end of the quarter. Sam Darnold ran 2 yards for one score and threw 23 yards to Jamison Crowder for the other. The Jets had the ball for 11:44 and ran 22 plays to six for the Giants.
The Jets went 75 yards in 13 plays on the game’s opening possession for a 7-0 lead. Quarterback Sam Darnold scored the touchdown on a 2-yard run. Darnold went 7-for-7 for 63 yards passing on the drive.

JETS GET OFFENSIVE HELP: Running back Le’Veon Bell, questionable with knee and ankle injuries, says he going to play. Bell (415) is the only Jet with more than 40 rushing yards this season. Tight end Chris Herndon, hamstring, is also expected to play for the Jets. Herndon would be making his season debut after catching 39 passes as a rookie in 2018.
