Good morning, New York Giants fans!
Evan Engram has foot issue
Coach Pat Shurmur said Tuesday that tight end Evan Engram is dealing with “a little bit of a sore foot” after the Monday night game against the Dallas Cowboys.
“We’ll just have to see as the week goes on and how he’ll do,” Shurmur said.
Engram is the Giants’ leading receiver with 44 receptions.
Baker admits that nine games into his rookie season, he still doesn’t understand the Giants’ scheme.
“Just the plays and everything like that,” Baker said was what he needed to improve the most. “The playbook. Just knowing the plays. Knowing what I need to do. Knowing my assignment.”
It can get uglier for the Giants. The losing this season is fairly orderly. Call it functional dysfunction, especially compared with the Just End The Season Jets, Jets, Jets. When assessing who stays and who goes from the top on down, it may come down to this question and answer supplied to Giants ownership: If you can’t beat the Jets, who can you beat?
“The urgency isn’t the same,’’ said Barber, who is not advocating Jones be benched. “One, because he’s a quarterback. Two, because everybody knows the Giants are still resetting, there’s not that urgency, necessarily. Now, how to you create that? How does coach Shurmur create that urgency in Daniel’s mind that makes him say, ‘I need to fix this now’ as opposed to ‘I’ll fix this when I have time.’ ’’
