Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl linebacker Leighton Vander Esch could miss Monday night’s game against the New York Giants with a neck injury, per a report from ESPN.
Vander Esch, who had 140 tackles as a rookie and is currently second on the Cowboys with 54, suffered that neck injury against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7. Dallas had a bye last week. Vander Esch is officially listed as questionable
Todd Archer of ESPN reports that “unless things change rapidly” Vander Esch won’t play. Archer reported that Vander Esch did not participate in any team portions of practice for Dallas during the week.
The 4-3 Cowboys lead the NFC East and are 7-point favorites over the 2-6 Giants, who have lost four straight games.
The Giants are getting healthier on offense with Sterling Shepard returning to the lineup. They have added Deone Bucannon and Leonard Williams to their defense in recent weeks.
