Giants-Patriots opening odds: Giants are 16-point underdogs to undefeated Patriots

An upset doesn’t seem likely for the Giants Thursday night

History has taught us to never count the Giants out against the New England Patriots. But with a loss to the Vikings on Sunday that dropped the Giants to 2-3 overall and an undefeated Patriots team, the odds are against Big Blue Thursday night.

The Giants, per DraftKings Nation, are 16-point underdogs.

That is the biggest predicted spread amongst all of the week six matchups listed on the DraftKings Nation page. The next closest spread is the Cleveland Browns being 10.5-point favorites over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 31 points per game scored by the Patriots this season rank third in the NFL and their 279.2 passing yards ranks sixth. The Giants struggled against a Minnesota team whose top receivers, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, had only 25 combined receptions and less than 400 yards receiving before Sunday. Meanwhile Patriots top receiver, Julian Edelman, has 29 receptions and 336 yards by himself in five games.

The Patriots defense has also held opponents to just four touchdowns this season.

The Giants have spoiled undefeated streaks by the Patriots before but that seems unlikely for Thursday night in Foxborough.
