“One hundred percent,” veteran leader Michael Thomas said. “There’s definitely a feeling like, ‘OK, we’ve just got to stick together, band together.’ Because it could have easily gone in another direction where a lot of key guys or key veterans might have been gone, and that wasn’t the case.

“So that shows that this team believes in us, coaches believe in us, and as players we’ve got to go out there and make plays, execute our jobs, and eliminate mistakes that are giving teams points,” he added. “There’s definitely a way better feeling in this locker room.”

The 17th pick of the draft had a sack and blocked an extra point against the Buccaneers in Week 3 to go with five tackles and a sack against the Vikings in Week 5. Some looked at him as primarily an early-down run defender during the draft buildup, but he has consistently shown the ability to generate inside pressure in the pass rush.
