Detroit, MI - The New York Giants travel to take on the Detroit Lions this week, their second 2-3-1 opponent in as many weeks.
We already knew that the Giants would be without wide receiver Sterling Shepard and cornerback/kick returner Corey Ballentine as both remain in the concussion protocol, but the Giants got some good news on the injury front this week, with Saquon Barkley, Lorenzo Carter, and Cody Latimer all being full participants in practice by the end of the week.
The Lions got mixed news, getting defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand back from injury, but losing CB Darius Slay to a hamstring injury. Between the injury to Slay and this week’s trade of safety Quandre Diggs, the Lions’ secondary is suddenly in disarray. The Giants could take advantage of the opportunity, but they will need to hold up against a defensive front that just got a very good player back.
