There is a “strong possibility” wide receiver Sterling Shepard will miss a third straight game and fourth of the season due to a concussion on Sunday when the New York Giants face the Detroit Lions.
That is what Giants coach Pat Shurmur told media on Thursday about the wide receiver, trying to come back from his second concussion of the season.
Shurmur also more or less admitted that running back Saquon Barkley is not fully recovered from his Week 3 high ankle sprain and that the Giants will have to manage his practice workload in order to have him as healthy as possible for game days.
Barkley played Sunday vs. Arizona but appeared to tweak the ankle in the second half.
The only Giant who did not practice at all on Wednesday was cornerback Corey Ballentine (concussion).
Thursday injury report
Did not practice: CB Corey Ballentine (concussion)
Limited: WR Sterling Shepard (concussion)
Full: RB Saquon Barkley (ankle), LB Lorenzo Carter (ankle), WR Cody Latimer (quad)
