One day after rookie running Jon Hilliman fumbled for the second time in 33 touches this season, the New York Giants waived the rookie and signed veteran running back Javorius ‘Buck’ Allen.

In four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, the 6-foot, 218-pound Allen carried 340 times for 1,249 yards (3.7 yards per carry) and caught 129 passes. Allen was part of a Friday workout that apparently also included C.J. Anderson and Akeem Hunt, per reports.

Hilliman carried 30 times for 91 yards and caught two passes for -3 yards in three games.

The Giants also waived rookie running back Austin Walter on Friday, bringing back quarterback Alex Tanney.

The Giants could also get running back Saquon Barkley back when they face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7.
