Good morning, New York Giants fans!

Latest on Deone Bucannon

We speculated on Wednesday about the possibility the Giants could be interested in signing Deone Bucannon after his release by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bucannon, of course, flourished under James Bettcher as the original moneybacker with the Arizona Cardinals.

Per a source, I can confirm the Thursday morning report that the Giants are one of four teams interested in signing the 27-year-old. There may even be a fifth team interest in Bucannon. I’m told that the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons and Oakland Raiders, along with the Giants, have some level of interest in Bucannon.

Considering the Giants’ struggles at linebacker, and on defense in general, bringing in a player who had so much success for Bettcher and is still relatively young by NFL standards makes sense.
