The Reese’s Senior Bowl is one of the highlights of every draft season. Every year, scouts, coaches, and general managers from across the NFL descend on Mobile, Ala. to get an up close and personal look at the nation’s top senior prospects.
2019’s Senior Bowl will be no different, and boasts one of the more intriguing collection of players we have seen in recent years.
The 2018 NFL Draft featured a record 106 underclassmen to declare, breaking the previous record of 98, set in 2014. That record only stood for a single year before being broken by the 135 underclassmen to enter this year’s draft. And while most of the prospects under consideration for the New York Giants at sixth overall will be underclassmen, the Senior Bowl is still an important part of the draft process, and worth paying attention to.
Case in point, the Giants have drafted the last two Senior Bowl MVP’s, quarterbacks Davis Webb and Kyle Lauletta — as well as 2006 MVP, Sinorice Moss.
Mark Schofield has already taken a good look at the Senior Bowl’s quarterbacks, detailing where they win and in which schemes they fit.
