The New York Giants added a pair of players to their roster on Monday, signing defensive end/outside linebacker Avery Moss and guard Chad Slade to reserve/futures contracts.
Moss, 6-foot-3 and 269 pounds, was the Giants’ fifth-round draft choice out of Youngstown State in 2017. As a rookie, he played in 11 games with two starts and had 13 tackles (10 solo) and one forced fumble. He spent all of the 2018 season on the practice squad.
Slade, 6-5 and 315 pounds, played in five games with three starts for the Texans in 2017. He made his first start at tight end and his last two at right guard. Slade joined the Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He spent that season on IR, and spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons on the Houston practice squad.
