“They are in all-in mode right now,” NFL CBS analyst and former Jets quarterback Boomer Esiason said. “I think this team is poised for a comeback. I know that they have a very tough schedule and have to go against the AFC South starting with the Jaguars, which is not easy.
“I think there’s a whole new feel around the team. I think [GM Dave] Gettleman has done a great job of getting the Giants back to the status they were prior to last season. This could be a huge year for a 37-year-old quarterback. I am somewhat in awe of the talent around Eli. That’s about as good as it gets in the NFL if you look at it from an athletic talent perspective. There’s no excuses, there really isn’t. A quarterback with the history of Eli should have no problem exploiting all that talent.”
