Will the Giants win or lose in Week 1?

This is a tough one. I’m not making my pick here, that will wait for Sunday morning. This, though, is a difficult way for the Giants to begin, and if they win it will be an upset. [Dan Pizzuta’s Week 1 pick against the point spread]

How confident are you in the direction of the team?

Very confident: 40 percent

Somewhat confident: 49 percent

I have said many times that this team, with Dave Gettleman and Pat Shurmur replacing Jerry Reese and Ben McAdoo, is in a better place. Shurmur says he likes the path the Giants are on. As do I. How many wins that translates to is anybody’s guess.

What is the worst NFL rule?

Umm, yeah. The helmet rule. I get the intent but many of the penalties they call make you wonder if what the league really wants is to play flag football.
