The New York Giants (1-2) will try to climb to the .500 mark on Sunday when they host the New Orleans Saints (2-1) at MetLife Stadium (4:25 p.m. ET). Oddsmakers don’t think they can do it, with the Giants currently sitting as 3.5-point underdogs to Drew Brees and Co.
The Giants were, of course, upset winners over the Houston Texans on Sunday, avoiding an 0-3 start. FiveThirtyEight’s ELO model gives the Giants a 7 percent chance of reaching the playoffs and has them projected for 5.6 victories. Football Outsiders DVOA model has the Giants with a 10.4 percent chance of reaching the playoffs and expected wins of 6.4. Team Rankings is the most optimistic, placing the Giants playoff chances at 18.1 percent, with expected wins of 6.8.
We will have the results of our FanPulse confidence poll and our fan predictions for Sunday’s game later in the week. Be sure to keep it here as we get you ready for Sunday.
