The New York Giants are 6-point underdogs Sunday as they face the Houston texans at NRG Stadium in Houston. Both teams are 0-2 and looking to avoid 0-3 starts that would almost certainly doom them to missing the playoffs. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. ET.
The Giants will be without key defensive starters Olivier Vernon (ankle) and Eli Apple (groin).
Fans already appear to have lost faith in the Giants, and there is a groundswell of criticism of the decisions made by new GM Dave Gettleman and coach Pat Shurmur building in the media.
“All the outside stuff, good or bad, is noise, so if you believe even the good things that people say, it can get to you in a bad way. We can’t worry about that, and we really have to turn our back on it and worry about the people in this building and putting a good product on the field that our fans can be proud of.”
