Odds appear to be increasing that the New York Giants will be without star linebacker Olivier Vernon on Sunday when they face the Dallas Cowboys in a critical early-season game. Vernon, sidelined since late in the preseason with an ankle injury, did not practice once again on Thursday.
Thus, it appears the early-week optimism about Vernon’s availability for Sunday could wind up having been misplaced.
Wide receiver Sterling Shepard, limited Wednesday by a back issue, practiced fully. Cornerback Janoris Jenkins was not practicing. His absence is listed as “not injury-related.”
Linebacker Tae Davis and running back Wayne Gallman were limited.
